Vita Gallery opens its doors this November for its first public exhibition — artwork created by residents of memory care facilities across Long Island.

The gallery is named for Vita Fratello, who became a dentist in the 1950s — one of very few women in the field — and practiced for decades before developing vascular dementia in her eighties. Her family cared for her for nearly a decade. Vita Gallery grew out of that decade.

Every piece on the walls was made by someone living with dementia or memory loss. We’re not asking you to look past that. We’re asking you to look at the work.

Accessible parking and restrooms are on-site; the ramp entrance is at the back of the building.

We hope you’ll join us.
